One de@d as Iranian missiles pounds Dubai airport
ONE person has d!ed and seven others have been injured at an Abu Dhabi airport, while another blast has rocked Dubai airport after Iran unleashed revenge strikes across the region.
Both airports were hit on Saturday night after Iran launched a barrage of rockets at multiple nations, vowing retaliation following US President Donald Trump and Israel’s major military offensive on the Islamic Republic.
Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest international hub, was evacuated after what officials described as an incident that was quickly contained. Dubai Media Office confirmed that a concourse sustained minor damage, with emergency response teams immediately deployed to manage the situation alongside relevant authorities.
Four staff members were injured and received prompt medical treatment. Due to contingency plans already in place, most terminals had previously been cleared of passengers. Flights had already been halted earlier in the day, and footage circulating online showed smoke filling Terminal 3 as passengers and staff hurried to evacuate. Around a quarter of a million passengers typically pass through the airport each day.
At least one person was k!lled and seven others wounded during an “incident” at Zayed International Airport. Authorities confirmed the fatality involved an Asian national. Officials urged the public to avoid circulating rumours and to rely only on official sources, adding that further updates would be provided.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Interior (Bahrain) said Bahrain International Airport had been targeted by a drone, causing material damage but no loss of life. Authorities said procedures were under way to secure the site.
Iran’s strikes came after Tehran warned it “has no red lines” following an unprecedented US operation reportedly dubbed Epic Fury.
